Insurance and Workers Compensation

Insurance

Our differentiated approach to providing best-in-class physical therapy is based on the premise that one-on-one care and individually tailored treatment sessions are keys to patient satisfaction and successful outcomes.

In order to provide a patient-centered treatment approach, CEP has elected to remain “in network” with only a small selection of insurance carriers. As healthcare practitioners, this allows us to determine the appropriate treatment plan for our patients, versus an insurance company dictating the level of coverage care, and number of visits a patient receives. Our patients choose to invest in their health, knowing the benefits that low volume, personalized service at CEP provides:

  • Hands-on approach and supervision during sessions to maximize treatment time
  • Achieve patient goals in a shorter time frame, saving the patient time and money
  • Undivided attention of the therapist allowing for correction, adjustment and progression of a treatment plan on the spot
  • Access to therapist via email to report a change of status and ask questions

We offer self-pay options that many of our patients prefer in lieu of battling insurance companies. The benefit of up-front cost transparency provides for the ability to utilize CEP whenever injuries arise, versus jumping through hoops to gain authorization from insurance carriers.

In the case of high deductible or “out of network” restrictions, we will have a discussion with you regarding self-payment options. We never want apprehension over cost to be a barrier to receiving the high quality treatment you deserve. We look forward to working together to minimize cost and maximize outcomes.

Our dedicated Insurance Concierge is happy to research individual health care plans for potential patients to determine the amount of coverage that may be applied to physical therapy services. Workers Compensation

At CEP, we strive to get injured employees back to work in a well-defined amount of time. We are firm believers in an outcomes-based treatment approach.

A few key principles drive the clinical decision process when treating workers who are injured on the job:

  • Direct and regular contact is maintained with case managers, physicians and nurses to promote continuity of care
  • Treatment recommendations are based on Confirmed Abnormal Objective findings relative to the acute injury in question
  • Pain alone in the absence of Confirmed Abnormal Objective evidence of injury is not considered relevant when making recommendation to continue care and does NOT necessarily keep the patient in therapy
  • Limitations in function must be directly related to the objective clinical evidence and must directly limit specific job functions in order to qualify for ongoing physical rehabilitation.
  • Aggressive Case Management utilizing a high intensity, short duration treatment approach that focuses on early activation and restoration of function
  • Focused treatment on the individual patient’s specific dysfunction or status and not based on non-descript diagnostic labels such as “back or neck pain”
  • Over-utilization of services is avoided and discharge is recommended when acute goals are met, typically 2-4 weeks, in non-surgical cases

Additionally, CEP is qualified to offer a Physical Reconditioning Program. This service focuses on getting an employee with a sub-acute injury back into the working physical condition appropriate to minimize the risk for re-injury. We will consult with each employer/carrier on a case by case basis in order to better meet their individual needs prior to making any specific recommendations. Our state-of-the-art facility is specifically set up to handle this program.
