Jason was born in Buffalo, NY and moved to Florida as a teenager where he excelled at hockey, baseball and football as he has always had a passion for sports. In 1994 he earned his undergraduate degree in biological sciences and pre-medicine from Florida State University. He earned his professional degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida with High Honors in 1996. He was named CEO of Ewing and Thomas Physical Therapy in 2005 and co-founded Competitive Edge a short time later. In 2013, Jason discovered Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) as a way to get a high intensity/low impact workout in a dynamic environment. This inspired Jason to found a Paddle Fitness Company named SUPx ( which is geared toward treating former military operators, athletes and weekend warriors alike. In his off time, he enjoys playing hockey, water sports and spending time traveling with his wife and son.

Jason has had the privilege of working with many gifted athletes at all levels while perfecting his trade. He has rehabilitated athletes in all major sports leagues including the NFL, MLB, NHL, MLS, PGA and WTA tour players. He has worked with thousands of baseball players helping them stay on the field after bouts with debilitating shoulder or elbow pain. Using unique manual therapy techniques that have been adapted over the years to this very specific group of athletes, he often can help players get back on the field after just a few treatment sessions. Helping an athlete recovery back to the top of their game following an injury is his top priority.

Throughout his professional career, Jason has gained vast experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. In addition to having extensive experience treating common injuries and conditions, Jason's expertise also includes the evaluation and treatment of complex neck and shoulder injuries, neck and low back radiating pain management and vestibular/dizziness conditions. He has worked with Parkinsonism, stroke, spinal cord injured and amputee patients. He also has earned clinical awards while managing workers compensation cases.

Jason's proven track record with the clients he has had the privilege to treat since 1996 has inspired him to adopt the phrase "Results Matter". He is a true believer in emphasizing the "care" in healthcare. As the co-founder of Competitive Edge, Jason and his team strive to prove this philosophy with each client they treat.

Stephanie is a graduate from the University of South Florida where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. In 2007, she graduated with honors from the University of Florida where she completed her undergraduate studies in Athletic Training with a minor in Health Education and Behavior.

At the University of Florida, Stephanie had the opportunity to rehabilitate athletic injuries while working with the men's and women's swimming/diving teams and the women's volleyball team throughout the competitive season and off-season.

She also has experience working with athletes in various sports such as gymnastics, soccer, softball, baseball and track from the high school level to the elite level. Her background as an athletic trainer gives her a unique perspective of the training regimens of many sports, which allows her to develop effective sport-specific physical therapy treatment plans tailored to each individual.

Stephanie is one of the only providers in the Tampa Bay area that is trained in the application of Graston Technique, a unique and innovative form of soft tissue treatment aimed at reducing scar tissue and muscle adhesions. She successfully treats long-standing, chronic injuries that have limited response to traditional treatment, such as hamstring strains, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, lateral/medial epicondylitis and IT band dysfunction. With Graston treatments, Stephanie has reduced soft tissue restrictions and aided in muscle recovery for many professional athletes, marathon runners and tri-athletes to enable them to continue training at high levels.

Stephanie enjoys reading, traveling, playing tennis and watching sports. Her clinical interests are in developing programs for injury prevention in high school athletics, correcting movement dysfunction in endurance athletes and incorporating current evidence-based rehabilitation techniques into patient treatment. Stephanie is excited for the opportunity to work with patients at all levels of physical fitness to help restore them to their optimal level of function.
